About the Event

BOOK ON EVENTBRITE

During this immersive evening, personal memories of the India Club will be brought to life through the excellent Indian dishes that have been virtually unchanged since the club opened. With the use of audio, projection and taste, diners will be brought closer to key people in the India Club’s history and will learn about the duality of the Club – as a modest and welcoming space vs a place of major political and historical significance.

The stories you will hear and taste shine a light on the rich social history of this iconic club on the Strand. They showcase the significance of the India Club as an important meeting point and community space, initially for migrants arriving from the Indian subcontinent, and gradually spreading to a wider intellectual community. Recently this vital space has come under threat from potential redevelopment. Help us to keep the history of the India Club alive, by supporting its future.

You will get a full menu with the best the India Club restaurant has to offer. There will be vegetarian options available. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements beforehand. We will serve lassi during the meal, but if you would like anything else, you can buy drinks at the bar.

The supper clubs are part of The National Trust’s A Home Away from Home: The India Club exhibition. Even though the exhibition finished at the end of February, we have decided to extend the supper clubs due to overwhelming demand. So grab your chance and join us for this unique event!
